Emily Joy Oomen is a writer from the Pacific Northwest. Her writing has been featured in The Wall Street Journal, BBC, BuzzFeed, The Rumpus, and other places. She holds a BA in English from the University of Washington and is currently pursuing a Master of Communication in Digital Media degree. She has served in various roles for organizations such as Button Poetry and The Poetry Vlog.

Emily’s poetry explores themes of feminism and mental health. She enjoys sprinkling humor and pop culture into her poems. When she’s not writing, she enjoys swimming and balancing terribly in yoga class. She can usually be found drinking a cup of coffee.
